Recently, Egypt shocked with news that one of the famous daily Newspaper in Egypt Al-Ahram in which six edition. The issues is regarding Al-Ahram was publishing a photograph to suggest President Hosni Mubarak was leading Middle East for peace talks. The original image is represented 6 leaders which are President Barack Obama, Israeli, Palestinian and Jordanian on a red carpet walking together and in the original picture was shown that Mr Obama is walking ahead and the rest are behind. In this case Al-Ahram was manipulating that Hosni Mubarak is the one who leading the way Mr. Obama trailing behind. Apart of this, Al-Ahram also putted a title in that paper saying “The Way to Sharm El-Sheikh” (BBC 2010). Result of manipulating a photograph of Mr. Barak Obama, many controversial that arise from various parties. On 6th April, Youth Movement has incriminated the biggest newspaper in Egypt Al-Ahram that the paper was crossed the line and also they were being “unprofessional” for publishing the image of the leaders without mentioning the amendment (BBC 2010). Right after the accusation, Al-Ahram has replaced the image on its website with an image of the leaders gathering seated on the chairs in the Red Sea resort.
According to Walsh (2006, p.29) state that inferring image is unlike decoding words, it has different effects, image particularly has visual and imaginative level. Visual and imaginative level is vary from one person to another, as for some people the shoking people is no big deal, but obviously for all leaders especially Mr.Obama is such an unprofessional way to manipulate a picture without mentioning alteration.
